Plug-in hybrid vehicles can be charged quickly in comparison to full electric vehicles and they use the same charging stations as fully electric vehicles, but they have big differences in terms of charging power needed. If your hybrid vehicle can only be charged with a maximum of 3.7kW on single-phase, a three-phase 22 kW charging station would be far over spec’d and unnecessary as the car would never draw more than the 3.7kw it needs.
